If you are currently using custom HTML and CSS, even if you only made slight changes, the new theme update will not affect your store at all until you click the 'Upgrade' button. However, by clicking the upgrade button your custom HTML and CSS will be reset.
If you want to use the Cooper theme instead of your custom theme, you just need to click the 'Upgrade' button. We recommend downloading your custom files before you do that in case you want to go back to those. Once you have switched over to the Cooper theme, you can edit the theme files if you want to.
If you only made minor changes to the theme and you want to use the Cooper theme, you will have to switch over to Cooper and then add in those changes again.
