What do I do if my normal store processes have to change because of the Coronavirus?
Due to the unfortunate situations we are all finding ourselves in because of COVID-19 we understand that you might have issues getting supplies, or you may be unable to ship out your products, or running your store is just the last thing on your mind right now. Life has been turned upside down and no one knows how long things are going to be not quite right.
We encourage you to let your customers know what your status is either in your store, on social media, via email, etc. Things like, are you ok, are you still open, will your shipping be delayed or can you ship at all, will be helpful for your customers to know. If you have to put your store on vacation mode do it. It will be there when you are ready. If you need to update your shipping policies or add in additional information, please be sure to update your FAQs. If you have existing orders from customers, please be sure to update them regularly on the status. Some of your customers might need to cancel if you can’t ship to them as quickly as originally planned, but I think you will find that most customers are understanding during these difficult times.
What is Storenvy doing about the Coronavirus? Have any policies changed?
We are monitoring Marketplace listings for anything that relates to the coronavirus. Malicious, fraudulent, or inappropriate products will be removed and the associated store may be closed permanently for violating our terms of service. Price gouging will not be tolerated.
Medical masks (such as N-95 masks and surgical masks) are not allowed at this time. These items should be reserved for the medical community. If you have medical masks or related supplies available we encourage you to reach out to your local medical community and attempt to get them into their hands, where they can do the most good.
We are currently allowing cloth masks for sale on Storenvy. For a time we were not allowing cloth masks on the site. However, as local and national guidance on the use of cloth masks has changed, we have changed this policy. If you do list cloth masks for sale in your store, please be sure that you do not make any medical claims about them, as this could result in your store being deactivated until the issue has been corrected. Please also be sure that you are able to ship the items that you sell. If you are making your own masks to order, for example, then set your available inventory quantities low enough that you can fulfill any order that you receive.
Where can I get general information about COVID-19?
The best place to get official information about COVID-19 is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Be sure to also pay close attention to any announcements from your local or national authorities. Specific instructions of what you should or shouldn’t do can differ depending on where you are located.
